An automatic door’s behaviour during a power outage depends on the model, control equipment and any backup-power system. Follow the operating instructions for the specific door.
How to Use Automatic Doors During a Power Outage overview
Manual release
Some doors and motors include a manufacturer-defined manual release. The procedure is not the same for every product and should only be used as described in its documentation.
Maintain safe access
Do not try to lift a door by hand if it is jammed or difficult to move. If a person or vehicle is in the operating area, make the surroundings safe first. Emergency exits and evacuation routes should remain accessible independently of the door automation.
Checks after power returns
When power is restored, check that the door and its safety functions operate normally. Request technical support if warning lights, irregular movement or control problems remain.
